Recognizing When Betting Habits Start Becoming Risky
The following signs are widely recognized indicators that gambling has shifted from entertainment into a problem — none of them need to happen together to be worth paying attention to:
- Continuing to bet to "chase" previous losses, rather than stopping at a limit you'd already planned.
- Using money meant for essentials — rent, food, bills — to bet.
- Hiding the amount of time or money spent betting from family or people close to you.
- Borrowing money specifically to bet, or selling belongings to fund betting.
- Neglecting work, school, or other responsibilities because of time spent betting.
If one or more of these feels familiar, it's not something you have to work through alone — see the control tools below, or reach out to a professional support resource.
Deposit Limits & Self-Exclusion
You can set deposit limits or temporarily deactivate your account. A deposit limit helps keep your betting within a plan you set in advance — not decided mid-session, when judgment tends to be less objective. Self-exclusion lets you deactivate your account for a set period if you feel you need a complete break rather than just reduced frequency. Contact support to enable either feature.
Get Help
Stop Online Gambling Hotline (Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs / Komdigi): the official government service for anyone who wants to stop gambling online or report a gambling site. Reach it via WhatsApp at s.id/bersamastopjudol or call/WhatsApp 0811-1001-5080.
PKJN RS Marzoeki Mahdi (Bogor) — Behavioral Addiction Clinic: a national mental-health hospital under the Ministry of Health with a dedicated clinical program for gambling disorder (outpatient: individual/family counseling, CBT, motivational interviewing; a 28-day inpatient program for more severe cases). This is real medical and psychological support, not just an awareness message.
